Platform Engineer

ABOUT THE TEAM:

RnD is the place where ideas are born, tested, refined, and ultimately translated into real-world innovative solutions for our valued customers. Our team consists of self-sustained and autonomous squads,  responsible for a specific feature in our platform. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:  

As a Platform Engineer, you play an important role in continuous modification of our existing open-source tools and enabling our Sales, Technical Account Management and Product teams to run smoother. With your Full-stack, cloud and infrastructure knowledge, you will help initiate and develop internal platforms to automate processes and enhance developers’ experience (DX).

This role is most suitable for professionals that have more than 5 years of experience in a related role, as we would expect from the new team member to come in with solid grounds of knowledge and leverage their skill-set further on. It also involves on-call rotation within our 4 person team.
They should also be based in Berlin, in order to be close to the existing team and have occasional office meet-ups and team events.

ONCE YOU ARE HERE YOU WILL:

• Lead the design and development of a platform to facilitate self-service infrastructure operations for internal clients
• Conduct thorough research to identify pain points in the current operational processes. Analyze findings to understand the specific challenges and opportunities for improvement
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the RnD department and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment of the platform with organizational goals and objectives
• Navigate unknown efforts and assignments and provide insightful feedback
• Monitor, maintain and improve our cloud and internal Infrastructure

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

• Previous experience in a Platform Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer role, working with cloud providers (ideally, GCP)
• Technical background as an Engineer (preference Typescript/Javascript, as well as Python/Go/Node.js) is a must
• Well-rounded knowledge of Kubernetes 
• Background in an infrastructure-focused role would be considered a great plus
• Eagerness to dive and explore unknown tools and technologies
