The Platform Operations Engineer is a member of our Information Technology team and is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the Fullsteam payments gateway. Members of this team will ensure that Fullsteam Pay Gateway services are operating at peak efficiency and with excellent availability. Team members will work with other members of the Information Technology team to develop practices & procedures to administrate, monitor and secure the technology which drives Fullsteam's success.

Primary Responsibilities:

• With a strong understanding of Azure Cloud fundamentals in compute, network, storage, logging & role-based access controls, the candidate will be responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of our production environments. 

• A candidate with good understanding of Microsoft Azure PaaS offerings (Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Kubernetes Service, WAF) and/or AWS equivalent will be tasked with monitoring, managing, orchestrating and remediating PaaS offerings. 

• The candidate will utilize DevOps tooling, including branching strategies, managing repositories & CI/CD pipelines. 

• The successful candidate will assist with design and architecting Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ARM Templates, Ansible, Terraform, Bicep). 

• They will utilize modern DevOps tooling (e.g., Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Vagrant, Jenkins, Visual Studio Code) on a daily basis.

• They will program and script in at least one of the following languages: BASH/Shell, PowerShell, Python. 

• The candidate will have a customer first mentality and deliver client-focused solutions based on customer needs. 

• You will be responsible for managing multiple projects at a time. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Understanding of highly available, zero-downtime infrastructure including IaaS, PaaS, and containers. 

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in AWS or Azure. 

• Minimum of 5 years' experience with Terraform. 

• Minimum 4 years' experience with EKS or AKS. 

• Experience with deployment, operations & monitoring of applications developed with C# & T-SQL. 

• Knowledge of defense-in-depth, least-privileged & secure-by-design principals. 

• Understanding of PCI DSS. 

• Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams. 

• Experience building solutions for monitoring, logging, security, and scalability of applications on Azure or AWS. 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related field (4+ years of work experience in software, infrastructure automation or cloud-engineering can substitute for bachelor’s degree). 

This position is 100% remote. The candidate would need to have a suitable work environment set up as their home office and be comfortable managing their own schedule in a non-corporate office environment.
