Platform Product Director

We are currently hiring a Product Director, Platform to be located in Lake Forest, CA (or remote- US). This role has a primary responsibility of product management, development, and investment strategy across driving digital health software solutions with a focus on Alcon's SMART Solutions Platform. The position will also be responsible for building and leading a team of product managers.

As part of the SMART Solutions platform, this role is expected to lead, manage, and oversee the goals, product roadmap, feature prioritization, structure, and expectations of the SMART Solutions Platform.

Furthermore, the role will be responsible for collaborating with a diverse group SMEs on Cross functional teams from the Global Surgical Franchise, Regions/Affiliates, and internal partners responsible for the marketing, commercialization and operationalization to execute a best-in-class launch of Alcon's digital health solutions.

Ultimately, the role will be collaborating closely with a wide variety of Alcon's internal and external customers globally to actively engage and seek feedback that enables the surgical franchise team to represent the voice of the customer accurately and courageously on Alcon's approach to providing dynamic digital health solutions to ophthalmology.

Shape product strategy and overall commercial potential of Alcon's connectivity, data and Ai platforms including SMART Solutions and related applications via management of planning, prioritization, specification, acceptance, and education processes for all product features.

• Develop a deep understanding of digital health solutions need in Ophthalmology, customer needs, market trends, technology trends, identification and assessment of growth opportunities, and create strategies to bring products to market. Identify and execute market research activities to drive business platform / portfolio decisions.
• Work with external technology providers to shape requirements based on Digital Health products roadmap. Work with the stakeholders and drive the digital health portfolio for interoperability between Alcon products and various partners.
• Close collaboration and partnership with cross functional teams (i.e., SMART Solutions Portfolio Directors, Surgical Global Directors, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality Assurance, GPD, Legal departments, IT, Cybersecurity and others) to drive alignment on strategy and execution
• Ability to understand complex technical concepts and effectively communicate recommendations
• Lead discussions to inform and prioritize GMA/Phase IV and HEOR portfolio strategy to support Digital Health Solutions products and services in a changing software environment
• Serve as a subject matter authority in the Agile methodology and create workflows and tools used to implement the product roadmap across the software development lifecycle.
• Create and maintain platform roadmaps and release schedules
• Oversee the backlog of improvements and defects, defining the requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with project managers to ensure timely delivery of product capabilities to market.
• Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various partners about strategy, adjustments, and progress
• Prepare budgets based on scope of work and resource requirements and track project progress against them.
• Oversee the development of detailed project plans created by Project Managers and provide updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• 10 Years of Relevant Experience
• 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Successful track record of delivering medical digital health, Ai and cloud platform solutions to market
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and technologies to build a scalable solution that can operate within a specified budget
• Experience building a data platform around AWS and Philips Healthsuite Digital Platform
• Experience building a data platform that supports Ai and machine learning applications
• Familiarity with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
• Familiarity with hospital networking and connectivity to implement digital solutions
• Familiarity with technology and interoperability standards
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall project methodologies
