With over $700 billion in cumulative CAPEX projected to be spent over the next decade at or near the Edge, software platforms will play a pivotal strategic role in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market. It's expected that more than 50% of enterprise-generated data will be created and processed outside the traditional data center or cloud in the coming years.

Description

FreeWave is looking for a Platform Product Manager to help us launch the next generation of our PaaS and distributed computational systems. As a PaaS Product Manager, you will play a key role in driving our PaaS offerings' strategy, development, and success. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, sales, and marketing, to define and deliver industry-leading PaaS solutions that meet customer needs and drive business growth.

In this role, you will be part of a team helping to shape the system requirements and strategic implementation of the FreeWave PaaS for IIoT and edge compute products. If you have well-rounded experiences working with Cloud Services, multi-tenant platform, designing components carefully to ensure high reliability, scaling and fast performance, writing clean and well-factored code with relevant tests and good maintainability, consider FreeWave as your next stop!

Requirements

Responsibilities

Responsible for managing one or more primary product categories throughout the product life cycle. Activities include developing a product roadmap, conducting competitive benchmarking, identifying and filling product gaps, leading cross-functional teams in developing new products and digital solutions, managing product cost and profitability, monitoring and adapting the product portfolio strategy for FreeWave products, leading project management work, and providing marketing support for commercialization, pricing, sales, training, literature, and promotions. The Product Manager - Paas will have a key role in developing and implementing new solutions and offerings around products, digital services, and integrations with outside partners.

The scope of responsibilities includes:

  • Strategy and Vision:
  • Define the long-term vision and strategy for the PaaS product portfolio, aligning it with overall company objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape, and incorporate findings into product strategy.
  • Product Roadmap and Execution:
  • Develop and manage the product roadmap, translating business requirements into detailed product requirements and user stories.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful execution of the product roadmap.
  • Conduct regular reviews of product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize and improve the product offerings.
  • Define and track key product performance metrics, analyze data, and leverage insights to identify areas for improvement, optimize user experience, and drive product success.
  • Customer Focus:
  • Work closely with customers to understand their pain points, gather feedback, and incorporate it into product planning and development.
  • Conduct user research and usability studies to gain insights into customer behavior and preferences, and use the findings to enhance the user experience.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including executives, engineering teams, sales, and marketing, to communicate product vision, gather input, and ensure alignment.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies, product messaging, and sales enablement materials.
  • Deliver all Gate review requirements to successfully launch products to the market.
  • Industry and Technology Trends:
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to cloud computing and PaaS offerings.
  • Assess the competitive landscape and identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation.

Requirements

  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Manager, with a focus on PaaS or cloud-based products. Experience in enterprise software, SaaS, or developer tools is highly desirable.
  • Technical Background: Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and familiarity with PaaS technologies, such as containers, serverless computing, and Kubernetes. Proficiency in APIs and developer workflows is a plus.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically, analyze market trends, and translate insights into actionable product strategies and roadmaps.
  • Customer-Focused Mindset: Deep understanding of customer needs and a passion for delivering exceptional user experiences. Proven track record of gathering customer feedback and translating it into product improvements.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical and Data-Driven: Proficiency in data analysis and a strong ability to use data to drive decision-making and measure product success.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a solid understanding of Agile principles and methodologies.
  • Leadership and Influence: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, and drive consensus among stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Must be a US Person in accordance with United States immigration laws to be considered for this position

The salary range for this role is from $165-$180k, DOE. Preference will be given to candidates within commuting distance of our offices in Boulder.
