Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

In this role the successful candidate will provide program management and leadership for multi-functional product development teams, supporting high level systems and troubleshooting of new systems. Key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Successful development and product release of assigned products, including customer requirements, requirements analysis, developing product specifications, design validations, supplier selection and management, product development, manufacturing and service.
  • Development of a complete Plan of Record and will lead the team to execute to the plan, responsible for meeting the product release dates, product performance, cost, quality, and manufacturing cycle time goals.
  • May have ownership of subsystem performance on complex systems.
  • Significant contributions to the definition of system requirements and the architecture of complex subsystems and systems. Able to architect entire subsystems in some cases. May write subsystem requirements in some cases.
  • Determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
  • Provide input to the top-level system specifications, system error budget, interfaces and working parameters for the optimum hardware/software solution.
  • Potential to lead and acts as a change agent when required for key corporate, functional, and/or group initiatives generally focused on changes that impact their department. May supervise the activities of others.
  • Recognized expert in area of expertise within their division and may work with other groups within a division

Requirements:

  • Skilled in the design of Semiconductor Inspection and Metrology Equipment. (Division specific.)
  • Must be able to interface effectively with all functional engineering managers, program managers, marketing, applications, manufacturing, field service and customers.
  • Ability to diagnose complex subsystem problems across algorithms, software, electronics, mechanics, and optics and apply the 7-Step problem solving technique, or other methods as appropriate.
  • Ability to lead and manage globally distributed multifunctional teams with accountability to divisional management for program success.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, interdisciplinary engineering groups, customers, and with vendors and other cultures as necessary, Influence peers and junior engineers to accomplish program goals, and give effective technical presentations up to the PLC and divisional levels.
  • Effective at supporting divisional and/or functional vision(s) and can work with the team to achieve the visionary goals with which they are challenged.

    Must have keen program management and leadership skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 5 years; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 12 years
