Job description
Position Overview:
The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for supervising plumbing crews, coordinating daily jobsite activities, estimating jobs, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards. This role combines field leadership with project planning and cost estimation, requiring technical expertise, organizational skills, and strong communication.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise, schedule, and direct plumbing crews on residential, commercial, and/or industrial job sites
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans
• Estimate labor, material, and equipment needs for upcoming jobs
• Prepare cost estimates and assist with pricing proposals and bids
• Order, track, and manage materials and equipment for assigned projects
• Perform quality control inspections to ensure code compliance and workmanship standards
• Train, mentor, and evaluate plumbing team members
• Maintain accurate job logs, timecards, and progress reports
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve jobsite issues quickly to keep projects on track
• Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, suppliers, and inspectors
• Enforce company policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of plumbing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Philadelphia Journeyman Plumbing license required
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, installation practices, and estimating principles
• Ability to accurately calculate material takeoffs, labor hours, and project costs
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Proficient with basic computer software and job estimating tools/spreadsheets
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and perform manual labor
• Work may require standing, bending, or kneeling for extended periods
