This position will support the Department of Energy, Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED). OCED is a multi-technology office responsible for overseeing more than $20B of investment in large scale demonstrations in emerging technologies such as clean hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced nuclear reactors, grid-scale energy storage, industrial emissions reductions as well as demonstrations in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions. We are looking for individuals with a range of skills and interest in large-scale clean energy demonstration projects, particularly in renewable systems, carbon capture and removal, hydrogen, and nuclear energy technologies. 
This position will be responsible for providing PMO assistance. Additional responsibilities may arise, as needed. 
This position is remote, with the expectation that candidates can work during Eastern Time Zone office hours. Residency in the United States is a mandatory requirement.
 
Responsibilities: 
 

• Support core project management functions, activities, and project coordination. 
• Assist project(s) with project management processes and tools, leveraging project management techniques to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of products, and ensure compliance with all project/contract requirements. 
• Support deliverable management processes through tracking, monitoring, processing, and reporting deliverables. 
• Maintain project schedules in compliance with industry scheduling standards and best practices. 
• Maintain detailed project documentation. 
• Work collaboratively with the government client lead and team staff to communicate project status, schedules, and risks; respond to actions and data calls; and prepare briefs that convey project status. 
• Define onboarding/offboarding activities that align with project requirements and conduct onboarding and offboarding activities for new and departing team members, as needed. 
• Pursue continuous improvements on the project that improve quality and efficiency. 
• Distribute project status to team members throughout the project lifecycle. 
• Operate in and maintain PMO applications, tools, templates, and other program-wide standards. 
• Identify risks, action items, issues or decisions that may negatively impact a project or its deliverables, working with leads to balance/manage priorities. 

Qualifications: 
 

• This position is remote, with the expectation that candidates can work during Eastern Time Zone office hours. Residency in the United States is a mandatory requirement.
• Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or 8 years of equivalent experience. 
• 3+ years of experience with PMO processes and methodologies. 
• Knowledge/experience with Microsoft Professional Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project. 
• Experience with and knowledge of system and software development and/or implementation concepts preferred. 
• PMP, CAPM, or PMI-ACP certification is a plus.
