Job Description

Raymond West is looking for an eager PO Collector to join our Accounts Receivable team! The PO Collector establishes professional working relationships with customers to facilitate timely receiving of purchase orders. Obtains customer PO's needed to invoice work orders from a WIP report by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Contacts customer by telephone or e-mail for purchase orders needed to invoice open work orders.
• Works from WIP report to reduce open work orders using Excel downloads
• Works with customers to come up with a plan to obtain purchase orders in a timely manner
• Conducts account research and analysis and communicates problem customers to Credit Manager and DSM
• Initiates appropriate follow-up action
• Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by Manager.

• Must be able to manage a high volume of customer calls daily (25-35 calls per day) with results.
• Must have experience using Excel and Outlook
• Must be organized and able to multi task and still maintain productivity.
• Must be able to follow the documented Collection Process with minimal supervision.
• Must have good follow up and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage time efficiently.
• Ability to be assertive yet professional.
• Ability to maintain established records and files.
• Able to operate a calculator.
• Familiarity with clerical practices, office procedures and automated equipment.
• Ability to perform computations with reasonable speed and accuracy.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, and officials in other departments.
• Willing to work off hours as specific needs dictate.
• Present a clean, neat appearance, mature and responsible.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School graduate or equivalent. Three to six years related experience in Credit Collections. Accounting and collection training desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to speak, read and write fluently in English. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos and to request clarification when needed. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
