Role Overview
The Policy Analyst is a newly created role reporting to the Director of Policy. This role will work as part of a lean team to track and monitor federal, state, and local policies impacting K12 curricula, ensuring Great Minds is positioned to influence policy. This role will also execute research to inform the organization's engagement strategy with policy-makers, state agencies, and K12 influencers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and provide insights to develop a company-wide point of view on K-12 policy trends impacting the adoption and implementation of high-quality instructional materials.
  • Monitor and track state and local legislation using multicomplex systems and platforms to identify policy trends at the local, regional, and state level
  • Execute desktop research to understand how legislative mandates shape policy actions at the local, regional, and state level
  • Use regional trends to inform the organization's policy and engagement
  • Ensure internal stakeholders understand policy initiatives by providing actional insights and recommendations to team members
  • Participate and represent Great Minds at policy conferences and events.


Job requirements
Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in academic or applied research or K12 policy.
  • Ability to translate quantitative and qualitative research into accessible and actional narratives.
  • Fluency in a variety of different research methodologies.
  • Experience in state and local policy development.

The base salary range for this position is $71,000.00-$77,000.00, however the offered salary may be higher or lower than the above range dependent on numerous factors including, but not limited to location, work experience, skills and internal equity considerations.. The base salary is not inclusive of benefits or other incentives.
