The Policy Issuance Coordinator I is responsible for ensuring that policies are issued accurately and within service level requirements. The Policy Issuance Coordinator I will review the policy file and instructions received from the Underwriter or Underwriting Analyst and will determine if any information is missing or incorrect – and if found, will address any questions or missing information with the sender. The Policy Issuance Coordinator I will work closely with the Underwriters to ensure that policies are issued accurately and within the authority of the Underwriter. The Policy Issuance Coordinator I will use the appropriate policy administration system to create the requested transaction and document the file appropriately. The Policy Issuance Coordinator I ensures that all transactions are processed within compliance requirements. The Policy Issuance Coordinator I will respond to any questions from Quality Assurance staff related to the accuracy or compliance of the policy and ensure that any necessary corrections are validated and completed.

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Reviews and enters required information into underwriting and policy systems to complete submission reservations, policy issuance, endorsements, cancellations and renewals while ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of the transactions before releasing for system processing.
  • Ensures that all transactions are issued within company and state standards and regulations. Any discrepancies are brought to the Underwriters attention.
  • Ensures that all transactions are processed within prescribed time-frames and within compliance requirements.
  • Identifies system defects and improvements and communicates these items to the Supervisor and assists the team to work toward any subsequent improvements.
  • Communicates with Underwriters, Agents, Regulatory Bureaus and others to ensure complete and accurate issuance of policy and coverage transactions.

Requirements: 

  • An Associate’s Degree with 1 to 2 years of industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience in insurance helpful but not required.
  • Must be knowledgeable about all relevant state requirements.
  • Ability to analyze information and problem solve.
  • Ability to type with speed and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task are essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) preferred.
  • Experience in AS400, CSC POINT and Microsoft Dynamic CRM systems a plus.
