Policy Services Data Analytics Intern

Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking aPolicy Services Data Analytics Intern to drive the business by learning and performing work in areas including data analysis, business analysis, operations analysis, and knowledge management.

This internship will begin May 2023.

What You Do

• This internship will provide exposure to the following functions and duties:
  • Policy Services:
    • Support requirements elicitation and from Policy Services management related to business process improvement
    • Document business requirements and engage with business partners to validate requirements
  • Operations Analysis:
    • Support the development and continuous improvement of operational business metrics that help define and measure the performance of all processes associated with Policy Services
    • Assess and improve operational processes in the Policy Services space
  • Business Systems Administration:
    • Assist with identifying solutions to gather and present data
    • Support simple to complex metric gathering
    • Support partners in their ability to leverage metric and metric solutions to measure and improve performance as well as drive decision making
• Gain practical experience with analysis, programing, testing, and implementation of metrics and data visualization tools
• Interact with associates in various areas of the enterprise, including senior leaders and other professionals

What you bring

• Must be actively enrolled in a college level degree program -- associate or bachelor level
• Able to commit to a full year of work - part-time during the academic school year and full-time during the summer
• PT includes 15-20 hours a week
• FT includes 30-40 hours a week
• Experience in Excel, Power BI, Sequel, Cognos, and other data tools preferred
• Understanding of statistics
• Understanding of data modeling, eager to tell a story with data
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Professional and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required
• Self-starter who can identify opportunities to drive projects to a successful completion with minimal guidance from others.
