The role

Policyholder Service Reps work our policy holders and agents to set up and maintain worker compensation insurance policies for the MN Assigned Risk Plan. Providing high quality customer service is key in this role; you will perform administrative support services in the form of data entry, policy/endorsement processing, document generation and policy issuance, for policyholders and agents. This position requires frequent customer contact via phone and email and manages workflows by evaluating and processing new business, endorsements, renewals, certificates, etc. as requested or needed. This is a fast paced job; no one day is the same!

Responsibilities

  1. Provides high quality customer service to prospective, new and existing Assigned Risk Plan (ARP) policyholders and agents by professionally receiving and appropriately responding to inquiries related to information requests, technical questions, certificate of insurance processing, etc.
  2. Corresponds with agent representatives and policyholders regarding the acceptance or rejection of coverage, endorsements, rating, pricing, etc., or to obtain additional information as required.
  3. Processes insurance applications received daily by accurately entering relevant information into the database. Examines new applications for missing information and determines appropriate action to be taken in order to issue the policy.
  4. Provides first-class customer service to all customers and complies with customer service standards. Responds promptly to resolve complaints or problems. Maintains appropriate interactions with persons both within the organization and externally

We're looking for

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two-year degree or equivalent relevant experience working in an office setting environment; experience in worker's compensation or a personal lines insurance company environment is preferred.
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take direction and navigate through multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills (preferably in Word, Excel and Outlook environment).
  • Solid data-entry skills with high degree of accuracy (50 WPM).
  • Detail-oriented team player.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, high-volume, customer-focused environment.

Physical Requirements

Regular attendance is required. Work takes place in a semi paperless environment within an office setting or home office, using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers, which requires being stationary for extended periods of time.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, and maintain concentration and focus. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and work with close vision. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Work is performed indoors with little to no exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions. **Travel as needed.
