POLICY & PROCEDURE GOVERNANCE PROGRAM MGR 2LOD
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Reporting to SVP, Head Risk Strategy and Governance (RSG), this position is active management of policies for CNB, including overseeing the development of new policies, amendments to existing policies and providing support on policy practices to the Businesses and other Corporate Support Segments as appropriate, and for meeting CNB Enterprise Policy requirements.
Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC)
Be part of City National's U.S. Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC) Office. This group's focus is on enhancing our risk management and regulatory compliance capabilities to ensure the bank is well-positioned for future opportunity and sustainable growth
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Support the Office of Policy Management, which is primarily responsible for bank-wide policy governance, rationalization, and change management
- Oversee and serve as a key point of contact of the Office of Policy Management team, primarily responsible for:
- Policy Inventorying (e.g., Policy inventorying, tagging, and publishing)
- Policy Governance / Change Requests – Review & approve formalized policy retirement, creation, and amendment requests
- Policy Library Maintenance – Ensure all active policies are up-to-date and published to the centralized CNB policy library
- Oversee the management and periodic review and refresh of the "Policy on policies", including monitoring and tracking of adherence
- Support ongoing policy rationalization efforts across the bank, including identifying overlap and conflicts
- Participate in key governance forums including committee meetings and initiatives specific GRC Steering Committees
- Develop and conduct bank-wide training related to Office of Policy Management (e.g., Policy on policies requirements, best practices for policy drafting, etc.)
- Oversee creation of periodic reporting for senior management related to the Office of Policy Management (e.g., Policy on policies exceptions, new policy creation, policy retirement, etc.)
- Manage policy stakeholder communications and engagement
- Review new or refreshed policies to ensure proper format and structure (i.e., policy is written in the format dictated by the Office of Policy Management)
- Work closely with the SVP to proactively identify, escalate and mitigate potential implementation and governance issues
- Support SVP with special projects and job-related issues as needed
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must-Have*
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 8 years of banking, consulting or financial services experience
- Minimum 8 years of project management experience
Skills and Knowledge
- Previous experience in supporting senior management committee activities (e.g., preparing agendas, compiling materials, drafting minutes, maintaining schedule for charter renewal and membership) preferred
- High Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Strong project management capabilities
- Strong verbal, and written communication skills
- Well organized and meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and facilitate change through collaborative effort
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues at all levels including senior management
- Self-motivation, discipline, task focus, the ability to structure and present work, and a proven record of delivering high quality results within strict timelines
- Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize several concurrent initiatives
- Must be able to work with confidential and sensitive nonpublic information
- Must be able to attend in person Committee meetings as needed
Compensation
Starting base salary: $101,231 - $172,355 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
