Job Summary:

• Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
• Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
• Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
• Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
• Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization as well as safety standards are met
• Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
• Resolves team members’ complaints or submits unsettled complaints to Human Resources for action.
• Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
• Manage the Poly and Blown Fiber departments’ labor, overhead, and materials
• Determine manpower requirements
• Minimize turnover
• Maintain training program per requirements
• Control NPE costs
• Meet or exceed budget
• Meet yield and variance targets
• Meet or exceed Safety targets for areas of responsibility
• Develop annual budget targets
• Meet or exceed labor targets
• Meet or exceed quality targets
• Sustain 5S 100%
• Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Education/Experience:
o Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Ability:
o Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. A manager must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and (VSWI) visual standard work instructions. The person must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Math Ability:
o The manager must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference as well as the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Reasoning Ability:
o The manager must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Computer Skills:
o To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Manufacturing software and Database software.
• Supervisory Responsibilities:
o Manage subordinates and subordinate supervisors who supervise employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of production and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
