What We’re Looking For:
We are currently looking for an exceptional individual to join our team as a Pool Technician. This person is a hard-working individual who will embody our values while ensuring the maintenance needs of all Vacasa properties are met.
Hours may vary weekly and seasonally.
Your duties will include but may not be limited to:
- Clean and maintain pools and spas to ensure each are clean and in proper working order.
- Maintain accurate logs of all testing for inspection as required.
- Add the proper chemicals as needed.
- Responsible for keeping the decks clean and free of hard water build up.
- Address all issues or concerns related to pools/spa in prompt, efficient manner.
- Other custodial or maintenance duties as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance of all aspects of pools and spas.
The skills and qualifications needed for this role include:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years experience in cleaning and maintaining pools/spas
- Must be CPO certified
- Knowledge of TELEDYNE, LAARS, or similar pool/spa heaters preferred
- Maintain a washing schedule for all pool decks and deck furniture
- Maintain daily water quality according to SCDHEC standards
- Knowledge of pool operations and pool chemicals a must
- Ensure chemical room is up to code and stocked
- After training must be able to work independently using good decision making, organization and troubleshooting skills
- Maintain a clean and safe pool deck area
- Able to lift/carry supplies or equipment of 50 lbs or more
- Frequent reaching, stooping, bending and kneeling. Extensive walking and standing
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment when dealing with guests and staff members
- Self-motivated and customer service oriented
- Ability to see projects through to completion
- Ability to properly assess problems and provide solutions
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, computers and mobile devices
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed to support the needs of the business
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Availability to work Sunday through Saturday, early mornings and evenings as needed.
- Traveling between worksites is frequent and this person will need their own reliable transportation.
- Occasional need to perform housekeeping and maintenance duties
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for an extended period of time
- Reach overhead and below the waist
- Regularly push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and twist
