Porter Monday - Friday Part Time

Summary:The Porter’s primary responsibility is to perform custodial work in offices, and other building interiors providing a safe and clean environment for employees and visitors. Roles and Responsibilities: · Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. · Gather and empty trash. · Service, clean, and supply restrooms. · Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. · Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. · Stock and Maintain supply room. · Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. · Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. · Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. · Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks. · Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems. · Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties. · Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs and ladders, to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings. · Perform minor repairs, touch up painting and patch work in walls. Requirements: · Must be able to lift, pull and drag up to 50lbs. · Must be able to bend or stand for long periods of time. · Must be comfortable of heights of up to 12 feet. · Must be able to use ladders. · Integrity and ability to work independently. · Have knowledge of SDS Sheets. · Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
