Team overview:
The Marketing and Investor Relations team consists of three people in the London office and three people in the New York office. The team manages and develops relationships with existing and prospective investors and follows the strategy closely in order to provide investors with detailed information on the funds, strategies and market views. We host investor meetings, prospect meetings, operational due diligence meetings and have regular update calls with investors. We also produce internal and external reports including DDQs, RFPs, marketing presentations, risk reports, presentation updates and quarterly letters. Given the breadth of our investment universe and the speed of market developments, the team is required to keep abreast of this news flow, the output from the Firm’s robust research team and corresponding shifts in the portfolio.
Job description:
We are looking for a new Portfolio Analyst due to an internal promotion on the team. The role will be based in New York. It requires a deep understanding of macro/ emerging markets and collaboration with the investment and risk management teams to digest, analyse, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative inputs. The person will be integrally involved in preparing and updating periodic and ad hoc descriptions of performance drivers, investment themes and market outlook. He/ she should become a knowledge centre providing succinct written and oral content for client-oriented dialogue and documentation (letters, DDQs and presentations). With extensive portfolio knowledge and time to focus on the markets and internal research, the person will be updating the team as appropriate with both informal and formal communications. The candidate should equip other IR team members with sufficient content to discuss independently and will join the client relationship managers in investor meetings. The person will also assist with the content development of the live quarterly calls and letters.
Required qualities and skills:
We are looking for candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities at a top investment bank, asset manager, investment consultant, alternatives investor/allocator, or consulting firm. A strong analytical and quantitative background with experience in financial markets is required. Other qualifications include:
- Background in research
- Deep understanding of macro and emerging markets
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn
- Ability to digest and synthesize highly complex concepts
- Highly collaborative; desire to support and educate others
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Robust technical and analytical skills (including fluency in Excel, PowerPoint and Bloomberg)
- Highly organized, impeccable attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong academic background from a top university
- Strong work ethic
- Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Finance or Economics
Pay range in New York:
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
Base salary- $125,000/yr - $150,000/yr
Work status and location:
Full time in New York
