OVERVIEW
The Portfolio Lead will be part of a duo heading up Interbrand’s Healthcare and Wellness focused client Portfolio. You will partner with an Executive Creative Director and bring an expert lens from either Client Management, Strategy and/or Verbal Identity. You will also be part of the Interbrand NY Leadership Team running the overall business.

In partnership with your co-lead, you will define, sell and deliver our Healthcare and Wellness focused offer in market, lead the Portfolio’s cross-disciplinary team, drive culture and morale from the front, and ensure excellence in delivering to our clients and stakeholders. While this Portfolio specializes in Healthcare and Wellness clients they do work across a broader array of industry sectors and so comfort with working in other areas like technology, B2B services, financial services etc is a benefit.

The right candidate will have extensive experience in the brand consulting space and will have ideally worked in different fields with valuable incremental skills, especially a digital agency, and/or innovation shop.

You will have deep knowledge and experience in the Healthcare and Wellness sector (see Thrive Arena). We work across the spectrum from biotech and medical devices to pharma and hospital systems as well as support non traditional healthcare companies move into the healthcare space such as Apple or Amazon.

You’re a natural leader and are great with people. Your ambition is to do iconic work. You are skilled at leading and winning pitches – you have presence, gravitas, great communication and presenting skills. You are business savvy and comfortable with the numbers.

In short, you are an expert in Healthcare and Wellness, a committed and passionate people leader, and you don’t rest on your laurels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development

The Portfolio Lead is responsible for the overall growth of the Portfolio business. You actively participate as a senior new business developer, partnering closely with the IBNY Growth team. Your primary focus will be on acquiring net new Healthcare and Wellness clients. You will build new relationships across Interbrand, the OMC network and beyond.

The Portfolio Lead will also manage and grow existing clients. This may include playing a lead client-facing role on key accounts, or act as a senior leader available for client meetings. For all active client engagements, you will have your pulse on the Portfolio business and will keep the IBNY Leadership Team apprised of key successes and issues as they arise. 

People Leadership

The Portfolio Lead is responsible for a healthy and well-balanced Portfolio team.  You will partner with our People Team and members of your Portfolio in recruiting and retaining our people:  identify, attract, mentor, and engage top talent. You will implement career development and planning programs.  You must foster a team environment amongst all employees, lead by example and teach through direct interaction. A top priority is cultivating craft skills and expertise, clarifying roles and responsibilities, as well as promoting seamless integration of our multi-disciplinary approach. All members of your Portfolio will report up into you or your co-lead.

Healthcare and Wellness Offering

The Portfolio Lead will elevate the work we do, partnering closely with other thought leaders to develop new products and services in the Healthcare and Wellness space and continuously improve existing ones. You will maintain a robust understanding of the most innovative and effective brand thinking, techniques, and approaches and leading trends within the category.  Our work should always be of the highest quality, and the Portfolio Lead will spearhead the effort to ensure we are proud of what we deliver to our clients. 

Thought Leadership

The Portfolio Lead will build our reputation and brand by speaking at appropriate conferences, engaging on social channels, and writing white papers on topics impacting the industry. 

Firm Leadership

As a key member of our leadership team, the Portfolio Lead is responsible for the New York office performance metrics.  This includes supporting the office business planning and achieving its revenue and profitability performance targets.  You will help elevate Interbrand New York’s standards and practices by actively participating in the overall governance of the office.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

  • Expert level understanding of branding, business processes and strategic planning

  • Must be a leader and team player and can work with people at all levels, both at Interbrand and the client organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong client leadership skills – can connect with clients and inspire their confidence and ongoing commitment

  • Passionate about branding, brands as acts of leadership and iconic moves

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15+ years’ experience in branding and/or business strategy setting with a focus (10+ years) in Healthcare and Wellness
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience leading a group of diverse professionals
  • Strong organization and presentation skills

NOTE: This is a hybrid role and requires you to be in our NYC office 2-3 days per week

Compensation

  • Base salary range of $250K to $300K; discretionary bonus based on company and personal performance
  • This range represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of Interbrand in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience; training; associated responsibilities; other business and organizational needs; and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
