Portfolio Manager

Sol Systems is seeking a Portfolio Manager for the Commercial Asset Management team. The group assists Sol Systems’ clients with managing their solar investments through transaction monitoring, financial analysis and advisory services. The group also supports Sol Systems’ by monitoring the company’s direct investments, managing financial exposure from existing contracts and advising the company on strategic initiatives. The Portfolio Manager will have direct responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of structured solar investments on behalf of Sol Systems’ tax equity and infrastructure investor clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Management and oversight of structured solar investments
• Interface with Sol Systems’ investor clients to resolve issues and report on investment performance
• Support the asset management team on major issues including contractual disputes, investor approvals, major actions relating to the portfolios, and risk assessment
• Proactively identify potential risks and take action to mitigate negative financial impacts
• Oversight of team’s compliance activities with regulatory groups and financing counterparties
• Accountable for quality and timeliness of delivery of investor financial and operating reports
• Coordinate with other asset management groups or internal Sol Systems divisions to address issues and streamline communications
• Oversee development and workflow of junior support staff
• Supporting other Asset Management Group functions as needed

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: 

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, economics, or business. Master’s degree in a related field preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in asset management, energy, corporate banking and/or project finance
• Experience in managing utility scale solar assets  
• Experience in completion of tax equity exists
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to comprehend, simplify and summarize complex financial and technical issues, both in writing and verbally
• Experience with financial modeling, credit analysis and financial reporting 
• Ability to organize and manage work flows across different teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint 
• Flexibility and ability to work in an open floor plan environment

Location & Hours: This is a full-time hybrid role and will be based in our Washington, DC office.
