It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work remotely for three (3) or more days a week and will share a hoteling workspace when working onsite. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

Summary of the Job:

FNBO is seeking a Point of Sale (POS) Lending Operations Manager. Our POS Lending division consists of our Home Improvement Lending (HIL) product as well as our Slice program where we do POS loans through multiple verticals including retail, medical, travel, entertainment, and automotive. These are relatively young businesses for us, but we are growing quickly and doing so by being nimble and responsive to what our partners and customers need.

About This Role:

This role is responsible for managing the operations team consisting of Project Management, Partner Services, Funding, and Doc Prep. We are looking for an experienced professional with experience leading a team, managing projects across cross functional teams, delivering operational excellence, and managing multiple things at once. This is a fast-paced culture of change, and we have a lot in front of us to deliver superior products and services for our customers, and this role will be at the forefront of making sure we do so timely and accurately!

General Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of unsecured POS lending, ensuring seamless and efficient processes from application to approval and disbursement.
  • Lead a team of operations professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and efficiency.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the speed and simplicity of the lending process at the point of sale.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members, ensuring a deep understanding of point-of-sale lending processes.
  • Allocate and manage resources efficiently to meet project demands.
  • Conduct resource planning and optimize team structures for project success.

Project Oversight:

  • Lead and manage the project management team in planning, executing, and closing projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Ensure effective utilization of project management methodologies and tools to drive successful project outcomes.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including cross-functional teams and senior leadership, to align project goals with overall business objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between project teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and technology, to streamline processes and enhance the overall POS lending experience.
  • Work closely with underwriting, credit risk, and legal teams to ensure compliance and risk considerations are integrated into operations.

Process Improvement & Quality Assurance:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from completed projects to drive continuous improvement.
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures to maintain the accuracy and reliability of POS lending operations.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and rectify operational discrepancies, ensuring a high-quality lending experience.

Performance Metrics:

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to point of sale lending operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet and exceed performance targets while maintaining operational integrity.
  • Set, track, and manage to SLAs for time to market and speed and accuracy of implementation.

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Manage the direct reporting team to ensure consistent and accurate operations
  • Facilitate vendor calls and monitoring
  • Facilitate cross functional collaboration, especially with Credit Risk and the Product team
  • Stay attuned to emerging technologies and competitors to ensure our competitive edge
  • Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems
  • Prioritize and manage resources to deliver capabilities based on what is needed by the business to accomplish growth goals and deliver on customer and partner expectations

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience operations management in the financing industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, or a related field. PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
