POS Programmer and Analyst

Reports to: SVP of Strategy & Systems                                                          

Status: Full time, Salaried

Job Purpose:  As a member of the Strategy & Systems team, POS Programmer & Analyst will leverage their highly specific knowledge to support a broad group of teams at Saxbys, a Certified B-Corp.  Saxbys is a nimble, entrepreneurial company poised for upcoming growth, and is looking for an individual that reflects our Mission & Core Values and is ready to learn & grow with our team.

The POS Programmer & Analyst is a detail-oriented and highly collaborative individual who is the subject matter expert on all things POS at Saxbys. This role is expected to maintain, support, and advise in all cases where POS systems are involved. We’re looking for a best in class POS programmer who is willing to utilize their advanced knowledge to Make Life Better by helping to demystify and streamline our complex POS environments.

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

Point of Sale (POS) Systems Configuration & Maintenance 

• Maintain POS systems with inputs from Product, Marketing & Operations
• Configure new menu rollouts across all POS systems 5-6 times annually
• Configure ongoing menu updates, discounts, promotions, and category changes in the POS system
• Ensure updates are properly reflected externally in the Saxbys App and various campus ordering apps.
• Configure POS systems for new cafe openings
• Work cross-departmentally to propose & implement process improvements

Subject Matter Expert

• Become the Subject Matter Expert on all POS systems and ordering platforms Saxbys utilizes
• Attend trainings and read all documentation and release notes for each system
• Summarize and document best practices and procedures for programming and maintaining each system
• Document known limitations, issues and resolutions for each system. This should extend beyond programming to include reporting, operation and integrations.

Manage POS Help Desk

• Track and manage all open POS help desk tickets with Saxbys POS and help desk vendors.
• Escalate tickets as needed to ensure prompt and thorough resolution
• Support remote third party techs in the field 
• Resolve any POS programming or configuration tickets directly

Saxbys Departmental Support

• Attend cafe openings to provide Go-Live support
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to:
• Saxbys Training teams in development and maintenance of training materials related to each POS system
• Saxbys Team Resources regarding any POS system interface or integration utilized
• Saxbys Operations, Marketing and Finance teams regarding reporting within each POS system and any integrations into reporting systems

• 2+ years of experience programming menus in POS systems
• Prior Toast MLM experience is a plus
• Prior experience in POS hardware installation and troubleshooting is a plus
• Basic understanding of computer networking principles and their application to POS environments is required
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience
• Excellent analytical skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Entrepreneurial spirit, high initiative, smart risk taker
• Travel is required (up to 10%)
