Post-quantum Cyber Engineer

Leidos is seeking a Post-quantum Cyber Engineer to join the Research, Transition, & Engineering team within our Digital Modernization Sector to defend these networks against emerging cyber and quantum threats.

Primary Responsibilities
•Perform network security scanning and assessment using common tools including Tenable Nessus, Wireshark, Metasploit, and other vulnerability scanning tools
•Implement standardized NIST algorithms into existing systems
•Conduct experimentation of post-quantum algorithms for use within crypto-agile systems
•Understand threats posed to classical systems by emerging quantum computing architectures
•Research and novel develop methods to detect and defend against quantum threats
•Enable organizations to assess their quantum-readiness security levels at enterprise-scale

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (CS) or Cyber Security with 2-4 years relevant technical experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a Master’s Degree.
•Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of stakeholders
•Previous research into emerging post-quantum cryptographic standards and techniques
•Experience implementing open-source software solutions related to post-quantum cryptography
•Familiarity with common network and application vulnerability scanning tools
•Understanding of post-quantum key encapsulation mechanisms (KEM) and their implementation
•Implemented common PQC tools including StrongSwan, LibOQS, etc.
•Solid understanding of TCP/IP and the impact and relevancy of quantum threats against them
•Understanding of secure tunneling over TCP/IP and the various modes of operation (AH, ESP)
•Experience performing prior PQC research at the university level

Pay Range:Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
