Post Trades Business Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

• To determine clear articulation of business requirements for post trades/back-office areas of commodity trading
• To work as domain experts in the following areas:
  • Invoicing, treasury, settlements, closing of desk
  • PnL impacts of logistics activities
  • Claims function, matching of bank statements and securities
• To act as a bridge between the business and highly technical developers located in remote offices, translating business concepts into requirements that are implementable
• Responsible for clearly articulating target business processes and the business requirements and functional design to enable change
• Work with the functional architecture team to determine the design of a solution, including screen design usability to optimize business processes
• Detail story elaboration to enable the system development
• Support development, QA teams to ensure a solution meets its business requirements
• Support change management and training teams to prepare business stakeholder for process and functional change

Profile/Key Skills:

• Formal education, ideally at university level or equivalent level of certification and experience
• Proven experience as a business analyst, capable of understanding business requirements and implementing them
• Proven experience in lengthy implementation and/or upgrade of CTRM/ETRM, Trading (Physical/Financial) and its associated modules
• Demonstrable ability to drive business process changes - challenging current business practices, working with key business process personnel
• Experience of a variety of software development methodologies (e.g., continuous integration, iterative development)
• Experience of defining requirements for interfaces between application components or systems and support in the development and testing thereof
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to self-manage and regularly prioritize and plan activities across multiple project work streams
• Strong academic background - excellent degree from a top tier university is required in a subject that demonstrates the need for logical thinking, precise understanding and clear articulation
• Team player with ability to exercise flexibility, demonstrate initiative to ensure the business needs are met in a proactive manner with minimum supervision
• Understanding of database design, SQL and Report generation within business applications
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• General skills on ICT technologies

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

Partner with Product Owner and Product Manager to understand and articulate product vision and roadmap for customers

• Facilitate and lead Agile ceremonies
• Gather requirements across the group's location and department
• Help the team on evaluating dependencies and setting realistic work prioritization
• Analyze the as-is situation and collaborate with clients to create artifacts (epics, stories, etc.) to maximize value
• Facilitate analysis workshops/meetings with senior client stakeholders to outline business vision, objective, product roadmap and a project release plan
• Be involved on sharing knowledge, mentoring and evangelizing Agile, Lean, and Continuous Development best practices
• Maintain an up-to-date list of specification in JIRA (Taking part actively in backlog refinement sessions with the Agile team)
• Work together with the QA (testers) in the testing of stories and always help them improve the regression tests
• Provide quick wins to your user base (i.e., Using PowerBI report for instance)

Desirable Skills:

Good knowledge of any of the following commodities (Gas, Power, Coal, Emissions, Agriculture) and can learn quickly

• Other languages in addition to English will be useful but not mandatory, e.g., French, German
• Certifications/experience on any of the following will be very useful: Microsoft software technologies, Software design, development and testing methodologies / concepts, Project management, ITIL., Technical certification
• Strong SQL skills. Ability to debug/write stored procedures
• Ability to do PowerBI reports (or other BI tools)
