• Maintain a secure and stable production environment for the Bank and Clients around the globe (including Database Network, Messaging, Voice, and Video technology)
• Monitor the Cyber Technology Operations Center (CTOC) 24x7x365 for real-time observation of the technology estate

The Role:

As PostgreSQL Admin we are looking for hands on experience in managing large number of PostgreSQL instances with large database size. The candidate should have in depth experience with installation, configuration, administration, backup/recovery, database logical replication and maintenance activities. The candidate should be self motivated and look for areas for database performance optimization and continuous improvement to provide consistent performing environment.

Responsibilities:
• Proactively manage PostgreSQL database servers to mitigate capacity or performance issues
• Strong Experience with Postgres Enterprise Manager (PEM) to setup monitoring, reporting and analysis of performance issues
• Strong experience and understanding of Postgres Database backup and recovery situations. Manage Postgres logical replication and ensure availability and synchronization of secondary instances
• Ability to handle database upgrades / rolling upgrades for applications requiring minimal downtime
• Engage EnterpriseDB support to escalate and follow up on critical issues, apply fix or patch to address critical issues

Qualifications:
• Candidates must have 5 or more years of experience in managing 25 or more PostgreSQL database servers. Experience with managing large (over 1TB) database size is required and also experience with both Enterprise and Community edition of EDB would be advantageous
• Strong skills and experience with managing and monitoring database maintenance tasks including autovaccum, bloating maintenance
• 1 or more years of experience with Azure and IaaS implementation and maintenance of PostgreSQL environment
• Experience with other data platforms including MongoDB or Oracle would be advantageous
• Experience with UNIX, Shell scripting, Python or Java programming would be preferable

Preferred:
• Experience with other database platforms including PostgreSQL or MongoDB
• ITIL Certification
• Experience with Service Now, JIRA and other service and development management workflow systems
• PostgreSQL Certification
