Your Role at Baxter

THIS IS WHERE you build trust to achieve results

Provide technical expertise in deploying and supporting medical device and software integration in healthcare environments. Requires the ability to work effectively with multi-functional teams that include customer resources in collaboration with internal clinical and technical authorities. Responsible for deploying, configuring, monitoring, and improving PostgreSQL databases at customer sites. Duties include performing database administrator tasks including supervising user access and security, monitoring performance, and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users.

• 100% Remote, US Based.
• Up to 10% travel as needed.

What You'll Be Doing

• Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOP's, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements.
• Installation, configuration, and support of highly available database systems
• Sophisticated database administration and optimization
• Provide technical and operational support activities for customer production databases.
• Diagnose and solve database errors.
• Responsible for the monitoring and uptime of all production databases
• Participate in a 24×7 support rotation.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years PostgreSQL database administration preferred.
• Will consider candidates with 2+ years of experience as a SQL Server database administrator that has a strong interest in learning PostgreSQL.
• Experience in database performance tuning and optimization
• Sophisticated knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments. Knowledge of Linux system administration
• Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
• Experience integrating and coordinating block storage systems.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus
• Flexibility in working evenings, including the weekends and holidays, as needed.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $60,000 to $132,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
