PostgreSQL DBA

About the role:
The DBA team at Enova is looking for a PostgreSQL DBA to join our team. We are looking for someone with 2+ years of PostgreSQL experience and with a demonstrated ability to learn fast and adapt to fast changing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Configure, monitor, and improve PostgreSQL databases
• Assist development teams with database design
• Troubleshoot database performance and data issues
• Design and implement database security best practices
• Implement industry-wide best practices around database administration
• Design and implement database backup and disaster recovery procedures
• Design and implement database maintenance procedures
  

Must haves

• 2+ years of experience managing PostgreSQL databases in a production environment
• Engineering degree, related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Experience troubleshooting database and SQL performance issues
• Experience working collaboratively with application development teams to implement solutions
• Good knowledge of SQL and database related technologies
• Ability to work off-hours as needed
• Linux experience
• Shell scripting

Nice to have

• Experience working in a high-volume transaction environment and with large databases
• Experience supporting production database environments greater than 2TB
• Experience in any of the following databases: MS SQL Server, Snowflake, MongoDB or MySQL
• Experience with Amazon Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda and S3
• Experience in Python scripting
• Experience with Debezium or Apache Kafka
