Power and Controls Leader

Job Summary

MycoWorks is seeking a person to fill the role of Power & Controls Leader. This person will be a member of the Manufacturing team and have responsibility for the equipment health of a new Reishi™ production facility. The focus of this individual will be troubleshooting and maintaining material handling equipment such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, scales, HMI systems, control/electrical cabinets, and installing/replacing any electrical components in the facility. The will serve as the Manufacturing team’s primary programming resource.

The Power & Controls Leader will perform preventive and emergency electrical maintenance, troubleshoot sporadic and chronic plant losses, and install machinery related to the manufacturing process and the plant’s physical structure.

This role interacts heavily with multiple organizations, including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Safety, and Process Development. The role reports to the Site Maintenance Manager. This is an onsite role in Union, South Carolina.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain all backup programs for all existing equipment
• Maintain material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems
• Identify, maintain, and troubleshoot Motor Controls, including motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components
• Troubleshoot industrial electrical, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
• Communicate technical issues to Manufacturing leadership
• Train and educate fellow team members on PLC Controls and Robotic Programming and any additional skills deemed necessary to improve the department
• Perform a wide variety of diagnostic activities, procedures and techniques to lay out, install, align, repair, overhaul and maintain various types of machines (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical)
• Respond to all urgent machine failures, coordinating the parts procurement, and proper personnel required to safely execute all necessary repairs
• Collaborate with technicians, vendors, contractors, department managers and engineers on maintenance and other relevant matters
• Assist in the installation of new equipment, from machine design stage through machine validation/qualification
• Assist in the mechanical maintenance of equipment, as needed

Qualifications:

• AA/AS in Engineering or Technical field preferred - Technical school certificate with 5+ years of experience of electrical and mechanical systems maintenance in a manufacturing setting
• 5 years of experience with the following systems: Controls and PLC Programming (in an industrial environment), electrical troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment, advanced automation controls systems, and industrial robotics
• Strong working knowledge of PLC programming (RSLogix 5000 FactoryTalk View SE)
• Troubleshooting capability including: reading blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of the assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment
• Understanding of TPM methodologies and implementation
• Experience with starting up new equipment and/or production lines
• Experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
• Thorough understanding of OSHA standards

Exempt: We are a 24/7 manufacturing operation. This role may require overtime and the ability to work varied shifts in order to meet the needs of the business.
