What will I be doing?
Blueprint is looking for a Power BI Engineer to join our team.  The Business Intelligence Engineer’s role is to build business metrics and perform data analysis. The role will collaborate with a multi-functional team to enable customer-facing experiences and support deep data research. This role requires technical expertise, curiosity, and the ability to partner with a wide variety of team members to get the job done. Â
Duties/Responsibilities:Â Â
- Design, develop and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support our analytical and business needs Â
- Analyze key metrics to uncover trendsÂ
- Suggest and build new metrics and analysis that enable better perspective on businessÂ
- Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentationÂ
- Partner with scientists to support data analysis and machine learning efforts Â

- Ability to partner with a wide variety of team members to get the job done. Â
- Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to the stakeholders and senior management as required Â
- Self-driven, with demonstrated ability to deliver on ambiguous projects as well as projects/requests where the underlying data is incomplete Â
- Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills Â
Education and Experience:Â Â
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field Â
- Expert in writing and tuning SQL scripts Â
- Experience working in very large data warehouse environments Â
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a data engineer or Business Intelligence Engineer roleÂ
- Advanced capabilities with productivity software such as Power BI. Â
Physical Requirements:Â Â Â
- The employee is frequently required to sit at a workstation for extended and long periods of time. The employee will occasionally walk; will frequently use hands to finger, handle, grasp or feel; and reach with hands, wrists or arms in repetitive motions.  Â
- The employee will frequently use fingers for manipulation of computers (laptop and desktops) and telephone equipment including continuous 10-key, handwriting, use of mouse (or alternative input device), use of keyboard (or alternative input device), or sporadic 10-Key; telephone or telephonic headsets. This position will also frequently use other office productivity tools such as the printer/scanner. Â
- Role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or move up to 10lbs on a frequent basis and may require twisting actions of the upper body (i.e. Picking up, carrying a laptop – and twist to work on an L shape desk). Â
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires frequent use of a computer monitor and visual acuity to perform email responses, prepare and analyze data; transcribe; extensive reading and online communication.Â
- Role requires being able to hear and use verbal communication for interactions with internal clients and dependent on role with external clients via conference calls. Â

Work Environment:Â Â Â
- The work environment is usually a traditional office, indoor setting with no exposure to outside elements  Â
- This position requires no travel      Â
- The employee will frequently be required to work closely with others and occasionally work alone Â
- This position may require a work schedule across weekends and holidaysÂ
- This position is subject to blackout dates which may include holidays where PTO is not approvedÂ

Salary Range
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $84,000 - $152,500 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
