Power Engineering Analyst

National Grid is hiring a Power Engineering Analyst. This position will be located in our Hicksville, NY office.

Job Purpose
Provide Budget Planning and Forecasting, Project Cost Analysis and Reporting for Power Generation Operations Capital Investments.
Key Accountabilities• Support the preparation of the annual and long-term Capital investment budget.• Prepare monthly project cost forecasts for assigned projects and analyze variances to budget and total project approved values. Collaborate with Engineers, Operations, Construction Managers, Procurement, Finance, Accounting, and other stakeholders to review work progress, schedule, actual spend, commitments and total estimated cost at completion.• Retrieve and analyze project cost data.• Prepare cost reports detailing project spending including engineering, materials, labor, contractor services and other related costs.• Develop and maintain databases and ad-hoc reports for Capital Spending Plan, Asset Data, and other related information.• Provide support for audits response, recommendations implementation and reporting.
Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.• Experience with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, cost control and program/project administration.• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications• Advanced computer and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, query, analyze, and present large amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.• Familiarity with Microsoft PowerApps, Power BI and/or similar business intelligence reporting tools.• Excellent communication skills, including negotiation and presentation skills.• Self-starter with the ability to quickly adapt and collaborate with all stakeholders to achieve objectives within tight schedules.• Knowledge of Power Plant Operations, Maintenance and Construction. - Preferred.• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel to Long Island Power Plant locations.
