How you will make an impact:
- Planning, coordinating, and performing complex technical assignments related to software applications in support of the Operations, Market Administration, Forecasting, Markets Mitigation and Outage Scheduling groups
- Analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, recommending solutions and implementing fixes associated with Market System applications
- Assisting in the development of RFPs and evaluation of results
- Coordinating with consultants and vendors on project deliverables
- Lead IT Support activities for one or more business areas
- Follow the Change Management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) policies and procedures during the course of the work
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Market Systems Experience within the electric utility industry or Programming experience in Electric Utility Industry
- Working knowledge of bulk power system operations and energy market operations
- Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL experience
- Experience with Java or Microsoft .Net and associated technologies such as J2EE/Web Technologies, Spring boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, Apache Struts, Microsoft Web frameworks, XML, JMS, Apache ActiveMQ, Apache Ant , Apache Camel etc.
- Hands on work experience with Kubernetes, DevOps, GitOps and Docker technologies
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a Team Lead
- Demonstrated experience dealing with challenging situations and communicating different problems to a wider audience
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
- Desired not required
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
- Experience/Knowledge related to Optimization Algorithms
- Experience with the GE Grid (previously ESCA or Alstom Grid) Market Systems
