MITRE's Enterprise Business Systems and Operations Division is seeking a PPM Project Leader to enhance and deliver internal enterprise business systems related to program and project management at MITRE. This position includes the implementation of the enterprise platforms that enable PPM for the various user personas that leverage PPM functions. You will serve as the user and business voice for new tools, integrations, and features across all PPM Tools including strategy, architecture, requirements, design, testing, and deployment.

The work will be located in our McLean office with a hybrid work schedule.

What you will do:

  • Manage the PPM technical vision and roadmap across enterprise platforms
  • Maintain PPM backlog across enterprise systems to include requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing
  • Ensure consistent implementation and management of PPM tools to meet business needs
  • Fulfill MITRE requirements functionally aligned to PPM
  • Gain efficiencies for business operations and user experience
  • Make decisions on tool configurations and integrations to support business processes
  • Continuously support effective and efficient project, program, and program management
  • Support alignment of project and program work to strategy, business priorities, goals
  • Remain committed to long term management and evolution of PPM tools and processes
  • Ensure that tools provide accurate visibility into project performance data
  • Partner with business leaders and other functional teams to identify key product capabilities needed, ensure alignment on development roadmap, and prioritization
  • Monitor tool performance, operational impact, champion adoption and engagement efforts using a data-driven approach with a continual improvement mindset
  • Mange a team consisting of contractors and MITRE employees to implement PPM business systems
  • Engage users for feedback regularly to inform platform direction

In addition to the activities mentioned above, the role will be responsible for:

  • Serving as the user voice to ensure that needs are met and business operations mature and improve
  • Participating in the PPM Steering Council
  • Providing leadership briefings on project status, risks, issues, and blockers
  • Translating Finance/Business Leadership requirements to technical teams, and translating back technical functionality, expectations, and constraints to PPM Functional Lead and Stakeholders
  • Identifying key areas for system, tool and process improvement
  • Guide adoption of the systems including coordination of communications, and identifying areas for improvement, engagement, and training needs
  • Leverage agile/scrum practices to deliver solutions to users

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • At least 5 years strong product ownership experience, with business and financial acumen
  • Demonstrated success in technical leadership roles
  • Knowledge, and practice of core Agile methodology principals and development practices (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and Lean software development)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Clarity, Workday Projects, OneStream, Salesforce, Workday, Costpoint
