PR & Communications Associate

You’ll execute and measure a communications strategy that builds awareness of our products and brand, talks about our amazing partners who use our technology, and gets people excited about working here.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Working closely with, and reporting to, the Vice President of Marketing, you will:

• Implement and manage successful communication strategies that build Alarm.com product and brand awareness, and leverage strategic partnerships with service providers
• Identify award opportunities and lead application process to position Alarm.com as the best choice for recognition
• Craft informative content (including press releases, articles, and other communications), develop service provider case studies, and facilitate content distribution among various audiences
• Proactively research, develop and maintain relationships with media outlets (traditional and non-traditional) and contacts for Alarm.com as well as our subsidiary companies in several exciting verticals
• Find creative ways to generate positive press coverage of Alarm.com products and services, our service providers, and as a top destination for career-seekers in tech
• Develop regular reporting of Alarm.com news coverage to highlight its impact on the business and identify trends/opportunities
• Assist with gathering, maintaining, and leveraging an archive of positive consumer and service provider stories
• Actively seek opportunities for key Alarm.com team members to serve as industry experts and schedule appropriate interviews and speaking engagements
• Serve as an editor of our monthly employee newsletter
• Work closely with internal teams on corporate communications initiatives such as executive updates on company goals, earnings, events, team building, etc.
• Manage Alarm.com Demo properties, including media event scheduling/invitations and compiling quarterly executive reports of property activities and updates

YOU SHOULD:

• Bachelors degree in marketing or related field 
• Have a keen interest in technology/automation/security/IoT (welcome techies!)
• Be highly organized and a strong project manager who can successfully coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines without sacrificing detail
• Write compelling, effective, and concise copy and effectively communicate across various industries
• Have a “get it done” attitude, able to quickly move ideas into action to turn project concepts into successful communications programs
• Take ownership of projects, sometimes with little direction, creatively plan and problem solve, and see tasks through to completion
• Identify key players and coordinate efforts across departments to meet corporate goals
• Have 1-3 years of work experience in journalism or public relations (in-house preferred)
