Sounds like your kind of mission? Here is what it will entail:

You will focus on increasing awareness about eliminating food waste via the Too Good To Go marketplace, by developing and executing effective communication, media relations, speaking and panel opportunities, media, sales and marketing events to drive measurable impact on the business.

Your role:

  • Deploy the PR & media strategy in the US market 
  • Proactively seek high level placements in print, broadcast and online media by executing regular pitching alongside an in-house and external agency team 
  • Plan, create, and coordinate proactive stories. 
  • Ensure you have the right content, distribute it to all the relevant parties, and conduct diligent follow-ups to secure coverage 
  • Manage reactive media inquiries and interview requests
  • Monitor, evaluate, and communicate PR results
  • Highlight any potential issues / crisis matters to local and global teams. 
  • Understand and follow the TGTG crisis management procedures. 
  • Help position our global and local spokespeople as the ‘go-to’ experts on food waste at industry events 
  • Plan and exchange strategies and ideas with the global PR team
  • Support with event planning and coordination (B2B and B2C)
  • Research and evaluate opportunities for Too Good To Go to be present and participate in relevant events & awards in the US that will make a significant impact

Why you are the Food Waste Warrior we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a relevant PR role 
  • Experience with an agency is highly valued!
  • A natural storyteller and great copywriter in English; Spanish proficiency is an added value 
  • Excellent understanding of the media landscape in the US and how to make the most out of a story, both nationally and regionally. 
  • An existing network of media and press contacts is highly valued 
  • Brilliant communication skills and the ability to translate ideas into PR tactics
  • Strong news sense, able to advise the team on what will and won’t make it in media
  • Ready to roll up your sleeves with a tenacious approach to getting our story told
  • Interest in and ability to collaborate with broader marketing team 
  • Understanding of how PR drives business metrics 
  • 100% target-oriented and resourceful, with a positive, flexible mindset
  • Past experience with food, lifestyle and consumer PR is a plus 
  • A natural interest in food waste and sustainability
