PR & Marketing Associate
Job Description
As the PR & Marketing Associate at Code and Theory, you will collaborate with our Communications team to take Code and Theory’s external and internal communications to the next level.
You will be responsible for helping elevate the reputation of this unique award-winning, technology-first agency on all fronts: public relations, social media, events, awards and internal culture-building programs.
Your strong writing, communications and organizational skills will be leveraged to continue the momentum of one of the fastest growing agencies within the Stagwell Network. You are a natural at social media and a creative task master who loves a challenge.
The sharpness of your intelligence and intuition, and the breadth and depth of your familiarity with our work, perspectives, and industry will come together to support the goals of the agency.
You will report to the Chief Communications Officer.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work across agency teams to stay ahead of project launches and agency news
- Create content for social; manage the day-to-day including moderation, outreach, ensuring our content across channels is generating buzz. Video expertise is a big plus.
- Keep connected to emerging topics and conversations relevant to our work and industry
- Craft and edit press releases for ongoing projects, as well as thought leadership, to launch in business, trade and tech press
- Compile prep documents for executives in advance of speaking engagements and press calss
- Drive content for internal communications including fun and informative newsletters, lunch and learns
- Create weekly content for the Decode client newsletter
- Identify speaking opportunities for agency executives, maintain year-round calendar
- Assist with industry awards submissions, maintain calendar to track submissions and wins
- Maintain a library of press clips, identify ways to strengthen impact within the press and industry
- Handle administrative tasks (e.g. calendaring team meetings, handling executive reports, maintaining trackers, creating presentations, etc.)
ESSENTIALS
- PR, journalism, marketing and/or social media experience
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Obsessive attention to detail
- Ability to work fast pace and enjoyment in seeing your projects come to life quickly
- Strong interest in advertising plus technology and AI
- Deft ability to package content
- Polished, energetic brand representative, outgoing coalition-builder
- Ability to proactively organize and prioritize work without awaiting direction
- Deadline-oriented, impeccably organized, a critical-thinker and solution-seeker
- Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, a bright outlook, and a desire to win
- A solid sense of design aesthetic
- Expert at PPT, Keynote, Excel. Experience with Mailchimp, Figma and AI tools is a plus.
- Able to work East Coast hours
PREFERABLE
- Familiarity with advertising, agencies, and digital media
- Relationships or familiarity with trade reporters covering advertising, agencies, and digital media
- Former journalists are welcome
The target range of base compensation for this role is $55,000 - $65,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
