A Public Relations/Social Media Specialist will manage the tactical and day-to-day operations of a social media or public relations campaign. A specialist will develop and execute content aligned with the overall strategy of the campaign.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, execute and manage social content aligned with a brand, campaign or project
  • Maintain an understanding of social media best practices to align client activity with trends
  • Monitor and manage daily brand and social activity and conversations
  • Create comprehensive reports measuring the success of each social campaign
  • Optimize clients' social and public relations efforts to amplify the message and campaign
  • Execute public relations and social media response protocols
  • Enhance brand awareness and loyalty
  • Collaborate with an account team to execute integrated communications strategies
  • Develop high-quality written materials to support a range of public relations and public affairs needs
  • Combine creativity with media relations knowledge to develop pitch angles and generate news coverage, profile pieces and features for clients across a variety of channels
  • Create persuasive and eloquent copy for a range of client materials, including press releases, brochures, video scripts, email marketing, case studies, continuing education courses, blog posts, newsletters and key messages
  • Coordinate media and client events
  • Cultivate and maintain media relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or similar field
  • Strong pitching skills and the ability to build ongoing relationships with media on local, regional and national levels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social platforms and reporting analytics
  • Excellent writing and communications skills
  • Experience with managing/executing issue management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
