We are seeking faculty candidates for future sessions (8-week sessions) in the following specialties:

Nutrition Health & Wellness – NR228

This course provides an overview of the basic nutrients required by the body for optimal health and wellness. The role that nutrition plays in various phases of the human life cycle and the psychological and sociological implications of food are discussed. Students use scientific thinking to question nutritional information presented in the various media and dispel any common nutrition myths. Students learn how the scientific method of inquiry is used in nutritional science and the health fields. In addition the application of nutritional concepts to care for patients are studied. Lastly conditions that are amenable to modification and possible cure by diet therapy and other nursing and medical interventions are explored.

Information Systems in Healthcare - NR360

The use of electronic databases for clinical practice is the focus of this course. Skills for asking clinical questions and finding the best evidence to answer the questions are developed.

Evidence-Based Practice - NR449

The research process and its contributions to the professional nursing practice are explored. The skills related to reading published research findings with understanding and using best evidence as the basis for professional nursing practice are developed.

Job Description

• Implements the College's philosophy curriculum program outcomes and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College community health system and profession.

• Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.

• Evaluates and provides documented feedback to student on level of performance based on course objectives.

• Is available for remediation of students as required or needed.

• Corrects and returns homework quizzes tests lab assignments clinical paperwork and other written work in a timely manner.

• Contributes to the ongoing development implementation and evaluation of the programs and the College.

• Keeps course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.

• Works with college administration staff and other faculty members to improve the overall operation of the college and student satisfaction rates.

• Participates in the implementation of the College Assessment Program campus retention efforts and both departmental and campus policies.

• Serves as a professional role model for other faculty staff and students in the areas of customer service collaboration communication excellence dress attendance and general professionalism.

• Utilizes relationship skills in situations requiring group problem solving consensus building and win-win negotiation.

• Complies with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.

• Reports to the dean or assistant dean: a course coordinator will also provide direct oversight.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing is required.

• Unencumbered Illinois RN licensure required

• Multi-State (Compact) licensure also preferred

• Excellent communication skills with high level of initiative and prudent judgment.

• Have exceptional subject matter expertise in the field of instruction with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional Information

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online: In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1950/Earned Credit Hour depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
