The team you'll be part of
Nokia Deepfield is a business unit (BU) that builds our IP network and subscriber analytics and DDoS mitigation solutions. We produce cutting-edge research at the intersection of data science, visualization, and network analytics. We create, deploy, and maintain the largest global network analytics platform.
The IP Routing Regional Business Center (RBC) Consulting Engineering team leads the technical pre-sales of our IP and network automation technologies and related services to CSPs, Webscale and Enterprise customers. We work closely with the Business Development, Sales, IP Product Management, and IP Product Marketing teams to help effectively capture IP products revenue in the Americas region.
In this role you will be the technical point of contact and expertise for all pre-sales engagements for Nokia Deepfield in the North America region. You will closely collaborate with other teams to develop, progress, and close new sales opportunities, and increase revenue for Nokia Deepfield. You will also lead a team of Nokia Deepfield consulting engineers.
What you will learn and contribute to
In this role, you will use your in-depth technical knowledge to lead detailed, engaging, and challenging conversations with customers about complex DDoS and analytics solutions. At the same time, you will to be able to uplevel the discussion when needed, and articulate concisely at CxO level the business value of Nokia Deepfield. You will work closely with PLM and Development to convey and prioritize new product requirements.
- You will be the primary customer interface for all pre-sales engagements. Deliver presentations, customer demonstrations, technical workshops and trials.
- You will work closely with Deepfield Business Development to quickly qualify/disqualify opportunities and focus the priorities of the Deepfield CE team accordingly.
- You will ensure regular follow-up on the key opportunities in the region. This will often require coordination with adjacent teams (BU leadership, engineering, PLM, other RBC teams, sales) as necessary to define and deliver optimal solution to the customer requirements.
- In this leadership position, you will work closely with the Deepfield BU to propose and implement process and product changes to better serve the market
Your skills and experience
You will be a great fit for this position if:
You have:
- Expert-level command of the following important technologies: Netflow, Sflow, DNS, AAA, Netconf, BGP Flowspec.
- At least 10 years of experience in selling IP routing products and solutions; demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships in consultative-selling setting.
- Knowledge of wide range of DDoS technologies, alternative approaches to DDoS mitigation, knowledge of the competitive space
- Excellent presentation skills complemented by technical curiosity and desire for hands-on engagement with technology
It would be nice if you had:
- Experience in leading small technical team in a combined manager/individual contributor capacity. Strong leadership and selling skills; highly collaborative work style
- Hands-on experience in other key technologies: router architectures, filtering at scale, hashing, encapsulation/tunneling techniques, compute virtualization, routing protocols (BGP), deep-packet inspection, big data and analytics techniques.
- Experience selling to or operating within Service Provider, Webscale or large Enterprise environments
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have excellent customer communication etiquette and presentation skills.
