The Premium Strategy & Operations Yahoo Sports Lead is responsible for developing monetization and packaging strategies for the Yahoo Sports business, by developing advertising programs, creating scalable/custom packages, and working with our industry-leading digital sales team to coordinate and execute world class solutions.
Leveraging strong marketing and advertising expertise, creativity and strategic skills, this role will drive advertising revenue by developing a broad understanding of the assets of Yahoo Sports property and developing both proactive and reactive solutions that meet our marketing partners' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize the Premium monetization strategies for Yahoo Sports - from off the shelf advertising products, to strategic sponsorships and integrated programs
  • Partner with O&O editorial and product teams to shape and innovate roadmaps to meet customer needs
  • Build go-to-market (GTM) strategies for Premium solutions catalogs, partnering with B2B and GTM teams
  • Drive Premium O&O revenue for the NAR sales organization

Key experience and skills include:
  • Lead the end-to-end packaging development of Premium opportunities across Yahoo Sports partnering with product and editorial teams on monetization, redesigns, strategies, programs, roadmaps, etc.
  • Educate the Sales Strategist and Specialist organizations on the Premium O&O strategies, GTM plans and solutions; partner with organizations on assessing market demand in order to influence future opportunities
  • Engage with the Strategist and Specialist organizations in the development of custom solutions, acting as the key liaison between the editorial and product organizations
  • Communicate with operations/execution teams to build out Premium products in The Store and vet executions operationally prior to GTM
  • Responsible for all media plan and internal booking guide development for Premium offerings
  • Work cross-functionally to help evaluate any exceptions request from a user, advertiser, and property perspective
  • Partner with Specialist organization on training Sales via coordinated internal Sales calls
  • Partner with Product Marketing and GTM teams to incorporate the story/brand essence into the Property GTM Plans and Property Advertising Programs
  • Partner with Pricing and Yield Management (PYM) on the display advertising ad inventory supply estimates, approvals, and pricing strategy for the Property Advertising Programs

Qualifications/skills:
  • Self-starter, able to develop and drive projects from conception through implementation and to evaluate the impact and success
  • Strong analytical skills include forecasting, impact assessment and statistical analysis
  • Comfortable questioning conventional wisdom, eager to take initiative, able to identify and develop creative solutions
  • Strong detail orientation, able to keep things on track while maintaining the quality of working relationships and a clear focus on the overall goal
  • Maintain current plans in the face of uncertain and moving schedules and priorities
  • Effectively prioritize and drive task execution in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively
  • Solid understanding of current online trends and initiatives
  • High proficiency in the use of GSuite and other productivity tools
  • At least 5 years of experience with ad sales/operations, product marketing and/or account management for digital products or campaigns
  • Relevant experience preferred

The compensation for this position ranges from $122,625.00 - $255,625.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
