POSITION SUMMARY:

This is the key administrative position for Prenatal Care Coordination, for the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston Medical Center; the largest safety net hospital in Boston. The Prenatal Program Coordinator will be responsible for meeting prenatal metrics (including ACO), tracking patient/provider continuity, analyzing and presenting prenatal data and be the key administrative oversight for all prenatal services.

The prenatal Program Coordinator will assist in the design of performance objectives, implement and monitor programming to meet desired outcomes.

Along with the medical director and operations managers, the program coordinator will plan for the needs of the clinic and other related duties.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Assists in the development of short and long term plans for programs, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance
  • Supports OB/GYN leadership in design of performance objectives and implements and monitors programming to meet desired outcomes
  • Meet ACO and BMC OB metrics regarding prenatal care guidelines, including outreach and triage to all positive pregnancy tests reported from BMC
  • Responsible for reporting on key data points such as Prenatal Care access, no show/cancelation rates, appointment lead times and provider schedule utilization
  • Reviews all Prenatal New Visits and ensures appropriate scheduling of next visit
  • Identify patients who are lost to care through the OB Active Episodes Report
  • Improve and maintain continuity for all prenatal patients (including high risk, specialty clinics) on a weekly basis
  • Actively manages Epic Pool communications and assists with urgent scheduling
  • Track prenatal labs and flag providers when follow up is requires
  • Organize training seminars to address staff education related to prenatal care coordination
  • Responsible for creating and updating of prenatal care coordination SOPs
  • Organizes and establishes meetings on regular basis with designated individuals to foster positive relationships
  • Ensures positive patient and provider experience
  • Manage the master list of "No Show" prenatal and ATU patients
  • Manage the master "recall" list for Prenatal patients
  • Reports adverse events or incidents and patient feedback/comments to supervisor
  • Maintain security of medical records and patients' health information according to HIPPA standards
  • Attend on-site/off-site community engagement activities, clinic events, and/or training as needed
  • Must adhere to all of BMC's RESPECT behavioral standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience) required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • None

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years related experience. Hospital experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated commitment to reproductive health causes
  • Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of racial and ethnic populations. Bicultural/Bilingual competency a plus.
