Solutions Consultant Overview

Our field sales professionals of Account Executives and Account Managers rely on proactive technical support during the sales process and our expert Solution Consultant team is there to assist. Our Boomi SCs follow a prescriptive technical sales cycle and engagement model, focusing on effectiveness and efficiency. Our SC team is viewed as and treated more than just a technical resource. Rather, our SCs are considered valuable partners throughout the sales journey and help to build trust with our stakeholders and prospects. 

As a solutions consultant, you will help provide pre-sales technical support to our field sales teams throughout the sales process. This includes tasks such as account and prospect research, collaborative discovery and needs analysis, formulating a technical strategy and win-team, executing on that strategy and ultimately getting the technical win. Moreover, as an SC supporting state and federal government accounts, you’ll work as a trusted advisor with your sales counterparts to showcase value to the customer and how Boomi can help them transform their business within their unique requirements. 

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • You work with account executives and account managers to help manage, support, and prioritize sales opportunities
  • Perform collaborative discovery, needs analysis and requirement gathering for prospects to ensure proposed solutions meet the technical and business needs of the customer
  • Develop, present and deliver high impact demonstrations of the Boomi platform. Tailor product demos, architectural diagrams and presentations that highlight customer’s environment, relatable use cases and reflect solutions to prospect’s challenges
  • Clearly articulate the benefits and value proposition of the Boomi platform to all stakeholders and levels of leadership, including but not limited to line of business managers, technical architects and "C" level executives
  • Think creatively to design business solutions that encompass the breadth of the Boomi portfolio
  • Coordinate internal Boomi specialists and interdepartmental activities to create a sound win team
  • Successfully engage at client facilities to have meaningful discussions and deliver high impact presentations leveraging strong business and technical skills
  • Able to articulate characteristics of the prospect’s current environment, including architectural schemas, security requirements, integration methodologies, etc.
  • Become a subject matter expert on the Boomi platform. Be able to apply that knowledge to assist Boomi prospects and customers with their unique business challenges and processes.
  • Lead and deliver on all product evaluations, including proof of concepts, proof of technology, guided workshops, free trials, etc.
  • Have a high-level understanding of Boomi Partners and/or Channel’s role to create and position the Boomi solution
  • Have a passion for learning the Boomi platform offerings, be privy to other competitive offerings, as well as general IT changes and customer and industry trends, especially as it pertains to Federal businesses.
  • Leverage tools such as Google Suite, web conferencing clients, and common IT tools used today (Slack, CRMs and ERPs, EDI, etc.)
  • Assist in the completion of full lifecycle RFI/RFP request from customers, prospects and partners
  • Aid implementation team in project scoping using information gathered in sales cycle; be the liaison between sales and implementation team (PSO/Partner)
  • Provide input to other cross-functional departments pertaining to prospect requests and product enhancements as needed as well as business and technical solutions to help customers optimize use of solutions

Essential Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen
  • 5+ years of software (SaaS experience preferred) or technology presales experience. Have the business savvy to understand & probe customer needs and demonstrate quantifiable business value.
  • Experience designing and architecting technological solutions, including Application Integration, EDI, ETL, API Management, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related fields are preferred.
  • Ability to present to all levels of business, from technical decision makers to C-level executives
  • Strong cross-group collaboration and the ability to provide the customer with any needed technical information in order to progress the sale through the sales cycle
  • A strong business acumen combined with a deep understanding of Infrastructure technologies and a broad understanding of SaaS technologies, and solutions.
  • Experience with Enterprise Grade Applications such as Oracle E-Business, SAP, Costpoint, ServiceNow, or Workday. 

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience working in Public Sector, preferably with Federal customers, Federal System Integrators and contract vehicles.
  • Preference given to candidates living in or near the Washington DC area of the US.
