Preschool Teacher

Position Overview Jacksonville Classical Academy is seeking a caring, energetic, and knowledgeable Preschool Teacher who will provide a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for our youngest students. The Preschool Teacher plays a vital role in laying the foundation for a lifelong love of learning while instilling the values of character, respect, and responsibility that align with our classical education model. Responsibilities • Create a warm, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity, respect, and joy in learning. • Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons and activities that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. • Introduce early literacy, numeracy, and foundational skills aligned with a classical model of education. • Integrate music, movement, art, and play into the daily routine. • Support character development by modeling and teaching virtues such as respect, honesty, kindness, perseverance, and responsibility. • Maintain clear communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and classroom activities. • Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by maintaining a clean and organized classroom and adhering to all health and safety guidelines. • Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to uphold the mission and vision of Jacksonville Classical Academy. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred). • State teaching certification or willingness to obtain certification (preferred, depending on role). • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting. • Strong understanding of child development and early learning best practices. • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. • Commitment to the mission and classical education philosophy of Jacksonville Classical Academy.
