Kurz-Kasch Inc., a part of the international company Prettl Mechatronics & Actuators, is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Price Analyst to join our organization's Automotive Purchasing team. Kurz-Kach Inc. is located in Newcomerstown, Ohio and we are a leading manufacturer of sophisticated electromagnetic coils and composite components. The Price Analyst is responsible for assessing and analyzing pricing data to optimize our procurement strategies, ensure cost-effectiveness, and maintain competitive pricing within the automotive supply chain. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas:
- Price Analysis:
- Conduct thorough analysis of pricing data for automotive components, materials, and services.
- Monitor and track pricing trends, market fluctuations, and cost drivers affecting the automotive industry.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs, enhance margins, and improve overall procurement efficiency.
- Supplier Evaluation:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess supplier proposals and quotations.
- Evaluate supplier pricing against historical data, market benchmarks, and industry standards.
- Provide recommendations on supplier selection based on cost competitiveness and value proposition.
- Market Research:
- Stay up to date with market trends, economic indicators, and competitive landscape in the automotive sector.
- Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers, emerging technologies, and alternative materials.
- Negotiations:
- Engage in negotiation processes with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing and terms.
- Leverage analytical insights to support negotiations and drive cost savings without compromising quality.
- Data Management:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of pricing information, historical data, and supplier performance metrics. Alternatively, maintain and utilize appropriate purchasing software
- Utilize data visualization tools to create informative reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the global purchasing team to develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Work closely with R&D, engineering and other project team members to ensure pricing aligns with technical specifications and performance requirements.
- Cost Modeling:
- Develop cost models and scenarios to forecast potential impacts of pricing changes on overall product costs.
- Provide insights to support decision-making on product design, sourcing strategies, and pricing adjustments.
- Lead in BOM cost evaluation for the calculation of new projects to be offered.
- Creation and adjustment of business case calculations
- Identify cost drivers and independently derive fields of action and strategies for cost reduction as well as moderate workshops for idea generation and cost comparisons with suppliers and engineering team
Qualified individuals should possess the following required education, experience, and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical related subject
- Proven experience as a Price Analyst, preferably in the automotive industry or related field.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or data visualization software.
- Strong technical skills in the area of engineering and knowledge of automotive components and manufacturing processes.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage and interpret complex data sets.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and strategic thinking.
- Goal-oriented, self-initiated, systematic, and customer-oriented.
