As a Pricing Actuary in Commercial Lines Department, you will be instrumental in conducting thorough risk assessments, refining pricing models, and providing strategic insights, all while leveraging data-driven approaches.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Prepare rate level indications and communicate the results to Home Office and Regional personnel with minimal supervision
- Prepare analyses of statistical experience and communicate the results to Home Office and Regional personnel with minimal supervision
- Prepare actuarial portions of rate filings, including drafting responses to questions raised by the various insurance departments
- Complete pricing and rate analysis as needed
- Complete peer review as well as review of Sr. Analyst/Analyst work to ensure quality of work products
- Train others on Actuarial tasks
- Ownership of ad hoc as requested by the business
- Ownership of any special projects as assigned
- Independently write code to manipulate and query data
- Assist with Rate Committee, including presenting actuarial pricing information, evaluating rate proposals, and advising on the impacts of actions being proposed
- Monitor Actuarial Department communications for opportunities to collaborate and drive consistency in actuarial work products
- Lead the continuous improvement of Actuarial processes and procedures based on industry trends and best practices in collaboration with the Research and Development Actuarial team
- Support the preparation of communication with Central leadership, as well as external stakeholders and vendors
What You'll Bring
- ACAS/FCAS Designation
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial science, Statistics, Analytics and 2 years of experience in an actuarial position or insurance pricing
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial science, Statistics, Analytics and 4 years of experience in an actuarial position or insurance pricing
- Or 6 years of experience in in an actuarial position or insurance pricing
- Commercial Lines Experience
- Experience with ISO rating
- Strong skills with programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, SAS and VBA
