Job Summary

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for providing price recommendations and executing pricing strategies in an effort to grow profits. This person will evaluate and analyze retail data to make recommendations for new and current item pricing, identify discrepancies, and create solutions to pricing issues. He or she will help Hillman understand the impact of pricing decisions to their business.

Essential Job Functions*

  • Extract data from databases to develop and review customer pricing models for assigned categories
  • Maintains the category and marketplace review schedule for assigned divisions and schedules reviews
  • Develops planning scenarios and monitors performance of key items compared to forecasted results
  • Create analysis/reports, inputs category roles, item strategies, financial objectives, and price images
  • First point of contact for incoming retail calls and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Review system generated cost changes for accuracy and alignment, review new items based on marketplace competition.
  • Ability to review and analyze large, complex data sets to execute pricing strategies that directly impact profitability

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 yrs related experience

Competencies - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency with excel, word, and other office suite products
  • Understanding of the dynamics of price elasticity and consumer price perception
  • Understanding of merchandising terminology
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently

Work Environment

Office: Office setting. Seldom exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Loud working environment of the shop area. Functional vision and hearing required.

Office: Sedentary.
