This role sits at the core of a fast-evolving clean energy and grid-edge technology business, where pricing, analytics, and commercial strategy directly shape how distributed energy resources are deployed at scale. You will design and own the financial models that determine how complex utility contracts are priced, structured, and optimized across a rapidly growing portfolio of customers. Working closely with Sales, Product, Finance, and Market teams, you will translate technical energy solutions into clear, defensible commercial frameworks. The environment is highly cross-functional and data-driven, requiring both analytical depth and strong business intuition. Your work will directly influence revenue growth, deal success rates, and long-term margin protection. This is a high-visibility role where your insights shape how innovative energy products reach the market and deliver value to utilities and end users.
Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain advanced financial and pricing models for products, bundles, and multi-year utility contracts, ensuring alignment with business and margin objectives.
- Develop “value stack” frameworks in collaboration with cross-functional teams to quantify and optimize pricing based on distributed energy resource benefits such as peak reduction and grid services.
- Analyze utility tariffs, regulatory structures, and market filings to ensure competitive and compliant pricing strategies across different jurisdictions.
- Lead deal structuring and scenario modeling for complex contracts, including performance-based incentives, volume pricing, and shared-savings arrangements.
- Develop sensitivity and risk models to evaluate exposure under varying conditions such as weather patterns, grid demand, and participation rates.
- Support Deal Desk processes by providing data-driven recommendations on pricing, concessions, and deal trade-offs.
- Conduct post-deal performance analysis to identify pricing trends, improve forecasting accuracy, and optimize future commercial strategies.
- Enhance pricing tools and processes by automating manual workflows and improving scalability of commercial analytics systems.
- 5–8 years of experience in pricing, strategic finance, revenue operations, or commercial analytics, ideally within SaaS, energy, or technology-driven industries.
- Strong expertise in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL or similar data querying tools is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of utility markets, energy systems, demand response, or distributed energy resources is a strong advantage.
- Ability to translate complex technical and commercial concepts into structured pricing strategies and actionable business insights.
- Experience supporting deal desk functions, pricing governance, or enterprise sales teams in a data-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex analyses to both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Highly analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Competitive base salary of $120,000 to $140,000 USD
