How will you make an impact?

Within MGIC's Product Strategy department, manage the implementation of price changes and the information governance around MGIC's quoting and pricing processes. To accomplish this, you will:

  • Manage a team of direct reports. Lead and develop employees into a highly effective team by setting clear performance objectives and goals, providing regular and honest feedback, and individual development plans.
  • Review workload across the team and effectively manage the process by appropriate work distribution. Provide feedback to ensure team members understand the role that they play and provide timely and effective direction.
  • Guide the team to implement pricing changes into the market while adhering to audit controls, the Product Strategy Charter, and the Pricing Delegated Authority Parameters.
  • Assist in strategically structuring price implementation for optimal efficiency.
  • Lead the team to analyze new and existing business processes and systems, looking for opportunities to streamline and automate.
  • Collaborate with the product owner to ensure IS delivery of pricing implementation projects meets business objectives and provide sign-off on user acceptance testing efforts.
  • Ensure the team is maintaining and updating policies & procedures
  • Manage information governance for pricing and product development and participate as an information steward in broader discussions of information governance with MGIC's IS organization.
  • Lead the interaction between Pricing and Internal Audit, including providing requested documentation and working with others on the team to resolve audit findings.
  • Responsible for the selection, performance evaluation, and salary administration of co-workers.
  • Manage the operational activities of the team including staffing levels, operational controls and processes.
  • Analyze business processes and issues. Manage departmental policies, procedures, and standards to enhance efficiency and work quality.
  • Develop solutions to problems with consideration for department goals.
  • Lead the team through the process of change both within the department and throughout the organization to achieve results related to MGIC's corporate strategy.

  • First 6 months:


  • Gain an understanding of MGIC data and price structure
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of MGIC's rate engines
  • Work with the collective team to efficiently manage price changes


  • First year:


  • Develop expertise in MGIC's price implementation, both technologically and procedurally
  • Develop broader familiarity with MGIC's pricing function to improve the potential for enhancements
  • Recommend improvements to the rate engines or price implementation procedures as warranted
  • Participate in MGIC's broader information governance initiative, sharing knowledge and maintaining data integrity with the pricing and product development teams
