We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and experienced Pricing Manager to join the pricing team. As a Pricing Manager, you will play an integral role in leading activities associated with strategic and competitive pricing and development of cost/price proposals. Your duties will include:
- Manage and support activities of staff who prepare budgets and business proposals
- Train staff on budgeting tools, policies, and procedures
- Supervise regular status and on-call pricing staff
- Provide leadership, coaching and development for direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce
- Assist with providing quality assurance of budgets and business proposals
- Collaborate with pricing and business unit leadership to assure that proposal directors have fully trained pricing staff assigned to assist them with proposal and budget preparation
- Serve as a business unit point of contact, working closely with area director partner to develop and maintain client-specific pricing expertise
- Contribute to price negotiations with personnel outside of Mathematica, such as suppliers, consultants, prime contractors, subcontractors, and contracting officers/contract specialists regarding procurement-related activities
- Assist with identifying best practices and developing procedures and automated tools to support continuous improvement of budgeting and business/change order proposals
- Collaborate with pricing leadership in overseeing the development and implementation of strategic initiatives
- Participate in cross-functional teams to assure continual process improvement
Position Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in business, economics, liberal arts, or a related field
- At least five years of experience in pricing, business proposal development, and/or project management
- A combination of equivalent education and work experience may be substituted for the above requirements
- Experience successfully managing or leading teams or people
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledgeable in concepts, practices, and procedures in working with FFP, CPFF, T&M, and IDIQ contracts and the development of cost modeling
- Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with others
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Accuracy with work, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, sometimes simultaneously, under deadline pressure
- Ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently
This position is eligible for remote work. Candidates also can work hybrid from one of our locations listed below.
