Summary / Role Purpose

The Pricing Manager is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of pricing strategies in support of each Business Unit and the overall Company pricing financial goals and objectives. The position ensures the pricing of goods and services stays competitive in the market, leads market research and competitive intelligence gathering, and makes recommendations regarding pricing policies. The Pricing Manager develops competitive pricing databases to monitor changes in the marketplace and their impact on the organization, performs analyses on customer price sensitivity and elasticity, and manages pricing analysis to support promotions and new product release.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop financial models and analysis supporting and evaluating all pricing initiatives; understand and evaluate customer level economics and customer lifetime value
  • Create multi-variable pricing tools that support complexity behind the scenes yet are simple for internal customers (Sales, Product Management, etc.) to understand and utilize
  • Produce deal negotiation models and guard rails for Sales that maximize customer value and support corporate objectives
  • Manage and supervise pricing analysts to support activities inclusive of new price generation, discrepancy resolution, etc.
  • Perform recurring financial evaluation to assess pricing actions effectiveness
  • Interface with various corporate functions (Sales, Operations, Finance, Product Management, etc.) to ensure optimal pricing processes are defined and implemented
  • Prepare and present recommendations to leadership for updates to current pricing for existing offerings, identifying and evaluating opportunities to drive revenue for new product features and new offerings reflecting competitive position and value generated
  • Perform multiple ongoing and ad-hoc analyses as requested or as needed to identify opportunities and to drive projects and improvements

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Pricing, Finance or Strategy with knowledge of, and experience with, financial analytics, financial applications and financial data modeling
  • Prior in-depth experience working with CRM systems, preferably Siebel or SalesForce
  • Expert-level Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to meet demanding and evolving deadlines

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization
  • Ability to effectively articulate insights and recommended actions
  • Experience with data warehousing, SQL and/or business intelligence applications preferred
  • MBA degree is a plus
