The Primary Design Engineer for Mammotome is responsible for the planning and execution of mechanical design activities on NPD projects which drive innovation in the breast care space.

This position is part of the New Product Development Team (NPD) located in Cincinnati, OH and will be hybrid. At Mammotome, our passion is driving innovative technologies that create efficiencies, while never forgetting that at the heart of every breast cancer journey is a patient.

You will be a part of the Mechanical Engineering Team and report to the Manager, Mechanical Engineering responsible for all mechanical design elements on NPD projects . If you thrive in a fast paced role and want to work to build a world-class medical device organization-read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Performs design and analysis (such as tolerance analysis, FEA, DOE's, simulated use testing, etc.), and leads design activities of high-complexity product elements
  • Provide leadership on a multi-functional project team through all phases of the design control process. This includes planning and executing projects from concept through the launch.
  • Work closely with other members of the team and suppliers (e.g., quality, regulatory, manufacturing) to execute project deliverables.
  • Works closely with team members to develop innovative designs.
  • Contribute to aspects of project management including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and contingency planning.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering (or related field equivalent) with mechanical emphasis
  • 2+ years of design experience
  • Expertise regarding mechanical processes and capabilities that impact design
  • Knowledge in the application of design controls and development processes
  • Understanding of risk assessment activities and risk mitigation techniques

    Preferred Education, Skills and Experience

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks
  • Engineering design work experience in a regulated industry
