Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and Innovative Engineering Senior Leader to join our team and help cultivate our scaling AI solutions team. As a Principal AI Engineer, you will spearhead the development and implementation of AI and machine learning systems that solve complex business challenges. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping our AI strategy and maintaining our competitive edge in the market.

Main Responsibilities: 

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of AI and machine learning solutions.
• Mentor and guide a team of AI engineers and data scientists.
• Communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Data Scientists, Researchers, Engineers, and Product Managers to develop AI-enabled products and features.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in AI development, testing, and deployment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years focused on AI and machine learning; GenAI preferred.
• Proven track record of leading complex AI projects from conception to production.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud or similar.
• High proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for clear communication and collaboration.
• Passion for Agile methodology with the flexibility to think outside the scrum. You can think on your feet, collaborate with your team and others, and take ownership of your work.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality software. You want to be part of a team dedicated to creating and delivering excellent products.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

Nice to Have Requirements:

• Experience in a specific domain such as natural language processing, computer vision, or robotics
• Contributions to open-source AI projects or research publications
• Familiarity with AI ethics and governance frameworks
• Experience with AI in production environments at scale
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for AI systems

The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, each candidate’s compensation offer may vary and will be determined based on but not limited to, your geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience along with the requirements of the position. Datasite reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.

Salary range $225k-300k
